Chinese mainland reports no new local Covid-19 cases for 43 straight days

No new locally transmitted Covid-19 cases were reported Friday across the Chinese mainland, the National Health Commission said Saturday.

Ten imported Covid-19 cases were confirmed, the commission said in its daily report.

One new suspected case from outside the mainland was reported in Shanghai, but no new deaths related to the disease were reported, the commission said.

On Friday night (Oct 2), 10 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland.

By the end of Friday, a total of 2,885 imported cases had been reported on the mainland. There were 10 imported cases reported on Friday.

Of them, 2,696 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery, and 189 remained hospitalized, with one in severe condition. No deaths from the imported cases had been reported.
