No Covid-19 deaths in Yorkshire (UK) for first time since March

There have been no Covid-19 related deaths announced in Yorkshire’s hospitals in the past 24 hours, according to the latest NHS England figures.

The figures, which cover a 24 hour period ending at 16:00 on 2 July, show across England 38 people died in hospital after testing positive for the virus.

However, for the first time since 15 March none of those deaths occurred in a hospital in Yorkshire.

The total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England now stands at 28,832.
