The UAE doubled its tally of recovered patients on Monday, May 4, after registering 203 new recoveries, its highest tally so far since the first case of Covid-19 was announced in the country on January 29.
This takes the number of recovered patients in the UAE to 2,966 – more than twice the total figure of 1,443 on April 21 when the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced 83 new recoveries and a sharp rise of 105 per cent in just a fortnight.
This comes after UAE announced the implementation of a breakthrough new Stem Cell Therapy. The treatment was administered in the UAE to 73 Covid-19 coronavirus patients who have all now been successfully treated and cured of the virus. The treatment is said to have had a therapeutic effect by regenerating lung cells and modulating the immune response to keep it from overreacting to the Covid-19 infection and causing further damage to healthy cells.
